About Gautam Verma
Dr. Gautam Verma is an electrophysiologist at Hunterdon Cardiovascular Associates (HCA).
He received his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Psychology with University Honors at Virginia Commonwealth University and became a Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency at New York Methodist Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College and became the hospital’s Administrative Chief Resident of the Department of Medicine.
Dr. Verma is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and speaks multiple languages, including English, Hindi, and Punjabi. He has received numerous honors and awards throughout his medical career, including the “Friend of Nursing Award” from the Department of Nursing at New York Methodist Hospital and the Excellence in Clinical Documentation Award at New York Methodist Hospital—the latter of which he was awarded twice. From 2018 to 2019, Dr. Verma was a Chief Cardiovascular Disease Fellow at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Verma’s research and work have been featured in peer-reviewed journals, including PLoS One, the Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and Cardiology in Review. Between 2013 and 2016, Dr. Verma gave poster presentations at various symposiums and research events. Some of the topics presented by Dr. Verma included “Super Warfarins and Super Coagulopathy” at the Medical Society of State New York (MSSNY) Symposium, “Ovarian Clear Cell CA presenting as Marantic Endocarditis” at the 9th Annual Symposium Gender Differences in Cardiovascular Disease: Fact or Fiction, and “Fibroelastoma Masquerading as Ovarian Carcinoma”—which was also presented at the 9th Annual Symposium on Gender Differences in Cardiovascular Disease, as well as on New York Methodist Hospital Research Day 2016.
In his spare time, Dr. Verma enjoys traveling, trivia, and reading. He also enjoys watching and engaging in sports—particularly long-distance running.
